Marital and Romantic distress are increasingly common presenting issues for couple and individual relationship-focused therapy. Whether it's a betrayal such as an affair, a sense of excessive criticism, blame and anger in the relationship, or entrenched distance, defensiveness and dismissiveness, the path to increased respect, fondness, admiration, warmth, trust and togetherness is available through through effective couple therapy, and even if one partner doesn't want to engage in couple therapy, relationship-focused individual therapy can increase self-confidence, emotional accessibility and engagement, and assertiveness towards healthier, more loving relationships.
Our couple therapists receive ongoing training and consultation in scientifically supported forms of couple therapy such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method to Couple Therapy, or Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy, and all dedicate a large percentage of their clinical practice to couples to develop expertise. Our couple therapists are also trained in Discernment Counseling for couples who aren't sure if they are ready for couple therapy, but aren't ready to give up on the relationship and separate. We understand that couple therapy is a unique specialization for therapists, and we take our duties seriously.
