A foundational quote for Kiel's (he/him) work as well as his life has been “Be kind for everyone is facing a hard battle.” Meeting you where you are at and seeing past your symptoms to who you are as a person is central to who he is as a clinician. Within your “battle” he strives to compassionately assist you in recognizing the strengths that you have within yourself to cope.
As a therapist, Kiel has been very fortunate to have worked with a diverse group of clients which he believes has helped him to be a more emphatic and culturally aware helper. He has focused heavily on working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, anger issues, substance use and various traumatic experiences. In particular, he has helped people to process familial, societal and internalized stigma concerning many of these issues in addition to one’s ethnic and religious identity. "I see therapy as a collaborative process bound by trust. We will be working together to identify patterns of unhelpful thoughts and develop new ways to approach life using the strengths that you have within yourself. If you believe that we might be a good fit, I would love to hear from you!" - Kiel |
