Luke (they/them) came to the mental health field from a background in social justice and community-building, and they carry those values into their work as a therapist. They are passionate about creating a space where people can embrace their whole selves, especially folks from marginalized populations, and they enjoy helping people explore who they want to be as individuals and to each other.
They primarily draw from mindfulness practices, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In addition, Luke believes that relationship therapy can be valuable for many types of relationships beyond traditional romantic couples, including polyamorous relationships, platonic partners or other chosen family members, business partners/co-founders, and those in kink communities. Luke spends most of their time outside work with their dog, George Michael. Some things they get excited about include bodies of water, the mysteries of the universe, and the power of stories to make change. You can learn more at www.lukehirst.com |
