Megan's (she/her) work as a therapist is rooted in a belief that people can learn to change their lives for the better, an appreciation for the diversity of human experiences, and a deep respect for what it means to trust someone else. Megan studied Psychology and Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) and has a wide variety of work experiences. Megan's passion is helping people directly. Her services are focused on adults and adolescents.
Megan primarily draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and continues learning about other modalities as well. She has a special interest in eating disorders and body image, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Outside of her work as a therapist, Megan enjoys going for walks outside, reading, occasional window shopping, spending time with her family / friends / husband / cats, watching TV shows, trying new foods, and getting to know the ins and outs of her new home location in Pittsboro, NC. She participates in volunteer work through her church and does some improv comedy from time to time. To learn more, please visit https://www.megancooperlcsw.com |
